Simple Rules to Using Weed Coupons

Posted by CANNASaver on Saturday, 27 August 2016 in Canna Blog

Basic Rules of Using Weed Coupons

Now that your weed coupons are printed and organized it’s time to use them, but if you have never used coupons before then this can be a little bit frightening.  Let’s face it, nothing looks less cool than walking up to that cute budtender and stumbling around with a coupon.  Situations like this have been the cause of more abandoned coupon purchases than anything else.  Embarrassment, or the fear of it, is a major reason why many people fail to get the best deals on weed.  Well, all that stops now – These are the basic rules of using weed coupons.  Read these rules and remember them and you too can enjoy the great savings that weed coupons have to offer.

Now all you non-conformist, anti-authoritarian pot smokers out there, remember that it’s a sad fact of life that rules do exist and that we have to follow them once in a while, so don’t freak out.  Just like everything else, coupons have rules that must be followed in order to get the best weed deals and save money to buy more weed.  The rules of using weed coupons are easy enough to follow – about as easy as making a box of macaroni and cheese, and like the mac-n-cheese, well worth the effort.  Using coupons is always one of the easiest ways to get the best deals on weed in Denver, Boulder, Colorado Springs, Pueblo, or anywhere.  Let’s get on to those annoying rules.

One per Purchase

If there were one weed couponing rule that was set in stone, it would probably be the one per purchase rule.  When using weed coupons, or any kind of coupon for that matter, it will always state one per purchase somewhere in the fine print.  In all my years of clipping coupons of every kind, not just weed coupons, I have never seen one that didn’t say that.  This rule means that you can’t use 2 or 3 or twenty coupons for say, one bag of marijuana edibles.  This would bring the price paid to less than what the dispensary paid for it, and make the sale not worth the effort for the shop.  Something to know about the one per purchase rule is that this is does generally mean that you can use one weed coupon for each item, or group of items, purchased up to store limits.  So if you were to have two coupons for a half price gram of shatter, you couldn’t add them up and get a gram for free, but you could buy two grams of shatter, each for half price.

Only What’s Specified

Another thing that all coupons have in common – even weed coupons, is that they always specifically state what they can be used for, when they can be used, and sometimes even where they can be used, like the individual dispensary coupons found on Cannasaver.com.  When something is specified on the coupon, then 99.999% of the time, that is the only way that the coupon can be used.  That tiny fraction of a percentage point when this rule does not apply only happens when a store holds a promotion that specifically breaks this rule on purpose.  In most situations this unique discount will take the form of one dispensary offering to take another dispensary’s weed coupons or even accepting expired coupons for a very limited time.  If and when this type of sale pops up, be sure to take full advantage of it, they are as uncommon as seedless Mexican brick weed.

Anything that is specified in words on a coupon is non-negotiable.  Dispensaries will not be willing to make changes or substitutions even if they run out of an item.  If the pot shop does run out of an item you have a cannabis coupon for, try asking for a rain check so that you can take advantage of that cheap shatter deal when its back in stock.

Be Honest

Coupons really don’t seem like a whole lot of anything to most of us, nothing more than a marketing tool that is generous enough to save money and help us to get the cheapest dispensary deals.  But coupons, even weed coupons, are actually legal tender.  Look closely at a big name manufacturer coupon for something like cereal.  Somewhere in that fine print it will say “cash value 1/100 ¢.”  This tiny phrase technically should mean that you could take 100 coupons to a store and cash them in for a penny – although, I don’t really know if any would do that.  More importantly, in common use, this phrase means that if you alter or change a coupon it is just as illegal as counterfeiting money.  So don’t do it no matter how tempting it may be.  Even if your weed coupons don’t have any of this printed on them, don’t take chances.  No one wants to go to prison for coupon fraud, not to mention, it hurts in so many ways.  Cashiers and budtenders will be reprimanded or maybe even fired for accepting altered coupons. And if too many fraudulent coupons are discovered, the dispensary may stop giving out their awesome weed coupons.

Following these basic rules of using weed coupons will make your couponing experience easier and happier and much more profitable.  Remember these rules and save more money with less hassle while using coupons from Cannasaver.com.

Marijuana Most Certainly Trumped the Election!

Posted by CANNASaver on Wednesday, 09 November 2016 in Canna Blog

Marijuana Won Big with More States Voting Yes for Recreational or MMJ

The 2016 election results are rolling in, and more states have voted to legalize recreational marijuana. With several states also voting to expand or legalize medical marijuana, it's a greener day today in America. Recreational marijuana legalization was on the ballot in Massachusetts, California, Maine, Arizona, and Nevada, while voters in Arkansas, Florida, North Dakota and Montana faced ballot questions relating to the initiation or expansion of medical marijuana programs. Cannabis activists around the country put in countless hours of work campaigning for marijuana legalization, and while their efforts didn't win out across the board, the 2016 election results are a definite win for marijuana.

Here are the state by state election results for recreational marijuana legalization and medical marijuana

Massachusetts marijuana election results

Massachusetts voters decided on Question 4 legalizing marijuana throughout the state. With 96% of people precincts reporting, the Massachusetts Question 4 results were 54% in favor of marijuana legalization with a lead of over 230,000 votes. Recreational marijuana will now be legalized in Massachusetts.

This measure allows for the sale, cultivation, use, and distribution of marijuana for adults age 21 or older and establishes a system for regulating and taxing retail marijuana sales.

California recreational marijuana election results

California voters decided to approve Proposition 64 legalizing recreational marijuana throughout the state. With 96% of the votes counted, Proposition 64 was leading by more than 1,000,000 votes. These California election results legalize marijuana recreational sales, possession, and cultivation.

Arizona election results for marijuana legalization

In Arizona election results for Proposition 205 did not legalize marijuana possession for adults age 21 and older. With 98% of the votes counted, there were over 80,000  more votes opposing Proposition 205 than there were votes in favor of marijuana legalization. For now, recreational marijuana remains illegal in Arizona.

Maine marijuana legalization election results

Maine voters decided on marijuana legalization initiative that would legalize marijuana possession of up to 2 ½ ounces and allow residents to grow up to six marijuana plants. At the time of this writing, the vote is extremely close with those in favor of Maine marijuana legalization having a slight lead. With 90% of precincts reporting, the marijuana legalization initiative had earned 50% of the votes with a less than 5,000 vote difference between those in favor and those opposed.

Nevada marijuana election results

Nevada marijuana election results have legalized marijuana possession and recreational sales, establishing a 15% sales tax and giving established medical marijuana dispensaries in Nevada the first opportunity to apply for a recreational marijuana sales license. The Nevada marijuana legalization initiative passed by a very slim margin of less than 100,000 votes.

Arkansas marijuana legalization election results

In Arkansas voters decided in favor of medical marijuana legalization by a slim margin of less than 70,000 votes. The election results for Arkansas marijuana legalization Issue 6 legalizes marijuana use for 17 different medical conditions.

Florida medical marijuana election results

Florida has legalized medical marijuana.Florida medical marijuana election results legalize marijuana use for approved debilitating conditions and diseases. Amendment 2 passed by a wide margin. With 100% of precincts reporting, 71% of voters chose to legalize medical marijuana in Florida, with nearly 4,000,000 more votes in favor than in opposition.

Montana marijuana election results

Montana voters decided to expand the state’s medical marijuana program, voting in favor of Montana medical marijuana initiative I-182. With 97% reporting, the medical marijuana measure had won 57% of the vote. These election results repeal the three patient limit imposed on medical marijuana providers, adds PTSD and chronic pain to the list of approved conditions, and paves the way for the expansion of the medical marijuana industry in Montana.

North Dakota medical marijuana election results

North Dakota medical marijuana election results are in favor of medical marijuana legalization by a 64% margin. North Dakota Measure 5 legalizes medical marijuana for epilepsy, glaucoma, cancer, ALS, and several other specified conditions.

Marijuana Legalization across America

These 2016 election results show that the tides have turned in favor of marijuana. Marijuana legalization is being adopted by more and more states, and if the trend continues, marijuana legalization at the federal level seems almost inevitable. For now, marijuana entrepreneurs in the newly legal marijuana states are scrambling to get their business plans in place and their applications ready to file, and marijuana activists are celebrating victories while looking ahead to a time when marijuana is legal across America.

Colorado Pot Featured In High Times “Strongest Strains on Earth”

ChemDog with 32.13% THC, is an indica entered by Next Harvest. High Times states that the Chem has achieved what most people thought impossible with it’s level of potency - which begs the question: How potent can a flower go in terms of producing psychoactive THC?

The Brotherhood came in second with 27.65% THC and is also an indica. It was entered by Animas Herbal Wellness Center. It’s our understanding that it’s propagated from seed and her lineage stacks up like this: (Willie’s Wonder x Grape Krush) x (Bubba ’91 x The White).

Sour Kush 60/40 with 26% THC, a hybrid came in number three. It was entered by Black Dog LED. Next is Lemon OG Haze with 26.14% THC. It’s a sativa entered by Ethos Seed Company. Ghost Train Haze was next with 27.46% THC, sativa, entered by Greenman Cannabis in Denver with the review noting, it’s a Rare Dankness–bred strain dipped slightly.

The strongest CBD strains were tested by three different labs across four separate competitions. Coming in at number 5 out of the top six CBD strains is Colorado's The White entered by Green Grass Central City, expressing 16.57% CBD with 0.67% THC. The sixth strongest CBD strain AC/DC entered by Emerald Triangle Genetics came in expressing 15.4% CBD with 0.8% THC.

The top CBD strain, Cannatonic, entered by IDK Farms topped out at an amazing 20.8% CBD with 0.8% THC. The second highest strain was CBD OG entered by C.R.A.F.T. expressing 19.5% CBD with a fairly high level of THC reaching 9.01%.

Perkins Cut Cannatonic entered by Mota Rebel Genetics expressed 18.8% CBD and 0.7% THC and was listed as the third highest. The fourth on the list was CBDee's #1B entered by Pure West Compassion Club with Light Sky Farms. It expressed a CBD level of 18.6% with THC at 0.7%.

In 2013, Bruce Banner came in number 3 at the Denver Cannabis Cup with a high of 28.35% THC. In 2015 a well known LA dispensary by the name of Greenwolf, took home the Denver Cup for their entry, Emperor Cookie Dough. This is not your ordinary cookie dough though. This stuff has a walloping 31.1% THC. Denver's own Next Harvest, wasn't about to be stirred. Their entry of ChemDog Cut surpassed the 32% mark setting the bar high with a new all-time record of 32.13% THC.

These are impressive levels and from the looks of it, the USA is producing a more power packed marijuana plant than that of our tokking friends in Jamaica.

The top of the list of six only reaches 17.8% THC submitted by St. Best Ganja Growers apparently going by a self titled name. The entry was submitted by Kevin Samuels and the strain is called Kevies Skunk. Second on the list of entries from Jamaica is True OG entered by Kingston Skinny with a 17.4% THC level followed by Power Nap entered by Sunspice with a level of 16.8% THC.

Next in the lineup is Gummy Berry 2 entered by Bongo Mannie. It's an indica flower grown outdoors with 16.6% THC. Following GB2 is Orange Hill Ebola entered by Juna Johnson. OHE is an outdoor grown indica with a 15.8% THC level. Wrapping it up at number six is M.G. Express - G.O.E.Original, coming again from St. Best Ganja Growers this time submitted by Glendon Elcis. This flower is an outdoor grown sativa leveling out at 15.4% THC and by the hyphenated name and initials G and E in the title, one must guess Glendon Elcis had a little influence.

Marijuana Topicals and You

Posted by CANNASaver on Thursday, 20 October 2016 in Canna Blog

The Topicals Topic

While the first thing many people may think of in regards to the marijuana industry is a bunch of people now allowed to get high, it has also made some amazing strides in the kinds of products available for medicinal usage even on the recreational side, several of which allow users to bypass any of the “high” aspect of using marijuana. Some edible companies are now producing CBD only edibles, with only a tiny amount of THC in them either to use as a catalyst to help enhance the CBD without enough to cause psychoactive effects, or for legal reasons, as dispensaries can only sell ingest-able products that contain THC because of food license sorts of things. Some companies can also do online ordering and shipping for CBD products that are made with hemp and have almost 0 THC content, usually in tincture form. I’ve used a few of these, and though I prefer more of a 1:1 ratio, they are still very helpful for pain and seizure relief, especially for people not looking for any kind of real intoxication.

There are also some very nice products available for topical relief if you’re not interested in ingesting something. I have used a few different lotions and salves, though my favorite is definitely the spray lotions, as you don’t have to use much and for muscle relief they can be very fast acting. Their speed seems to be the only real difference between sprays and lotions, though some of the thinner lotions are somewhat faster as well. Even though most of the lotions contain THC they don’t go into your blood stream, which can be a concern for some older customers just because of marijuana taboos that still very much exist. One of my coworkers had a grandmother that used it for her arthritis because smoking was not an option at her age, and there are now several more companies making these topical creams that there used to be so there are options for everything from pain relief to anti anxiety calming, all with quality ingredients you’d find in non-medicated lotion.

Another great option is trans-dermal patches, though these will go into your bloodstream so make sure not to get any with THC in them if that’s not what you’re looking for. These are pretty interesting because they can also give you options for taking more specific cannibinoids, some with all CBD, some with CBD and THCv, some with non activated THC, which can cause different effects than traditionally activated THC. Just for clarification, most THC in marijuana is actually THCa, which then turns into THC when activated by whatever heating element is used. The patches are time release and I’ve had them last between 8 and 12 hours, but you can also cut them into smaller pieces for multiple lesser uses.

These are just a few of the new options you can find in dispensaries for a little more relief than just average smoking, and there are always new products coming out. I’ve seen CBD medicated sugar for adding to drinks, bath salts that give crazy amounts of muscle relief and relaxation, even dog treats for arthritis. If you’ve been looking for something besides weed to maximize your relief, ask about some of these products, in my experience they are a fantastic thing to have on hand if you need a quick solution for pain.

Federal Court Rules in Favor of Cannabis Church

by Melanie Marquis

In a federal court ruling on December 7th, the Healing Church of Rhode Island won its legal right to use and distribute cannabis as part of its religious ceremonies. Founded on the belief that cannabis is a healing agent and holy sacrament mentioned throughout the original Hebrew biblical texts as a plant known as “KNH BSM,” the Healing Church uses cannabis for anointing, healing, and offerings. Monday's ruling was only a partial victory for the church, however, as federal court Judge Mary Lisi upheld the group's rights to consume and share cannabis with its congregation, but stopped short of granting the church permission to perform their cannabis ceremonies on federal lands. The battle has largely centered around a well located at the Roger Williams National Memorial in Providence, Rhode Island, a place the Healing Church believes is religiously significant, and a place which also happens to be a part of the National Parks system. Referencing their belief in the location as the birthplace of religious freedom as well as a sacred site linked to the resurgence of the “holy KNH BSM”--a.k.a. “biblical cannabis”--the group applied for a permit and federal injunction in May of this year to be allowed to hold a cannabis ceremony at the memorial. While their permit to conduct the ceremony was approved, the injunction to burn cannabis offerings as part of the religious ritual was denied. The group held their services anyway and faced fines, confiscation of various religious artifacts, and alleged harassment of church members.

Undeterred, church leaders filed an affidavit with the federal courts asking for their Constitutional rights to freely practice their religion to be permanently secured and upheld, including their right to conduct religious ceremonies with cannabis at the Roger Williams National Memorial. While the church can now use cannabis at private locations of worship without fear of legal consequences, Judge Lisi ruled that the group could not conduct their cannabis rites at the Roger Williams National Memorial well until they are able to fully demonstrate to the court's satisfaction the particular importance of practicing these ceremonies at the specific site in question. The Healing Church is planning to file an appeal.
