Hash Oil Price

Posted by CANNASaver on Monday, 27 December 2021 in Canna Blog

Hash oil, also known as honey oil, or just hash, is concentrated cannabis extract. It contains the active ingredient tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), just like other forms of cannabis. However, hash oil has a much higher concentration and is much more potent than other marijuana forms, so the price of hash oil is usually higher.

The most common term used to describe using hash oil is “dabbing” or "burning."

There are many ways to reap its benefits, including treating pain, nausea, and inflammation.

Hash oil can be smoked, vaped, eaten, and even be used as a topical. It is a thick liquid that contains cannabis resin mixed with solvents such as Butane, Alcohol, or Petroleum Ether

Many cannabis users turn to hash oil because of its convenience and potency. A slew of new electronic vape products available on the market makes it easy for users to dab on the go.

Vape pens allow smokers to enjoy cannabis discreetly, producing less odor than the traditional joint.

Hash oil is much more potent than your typical joint and can contain up to 90 percent THC (Other cannabis products typically have only 12 percent). Because of its strong effects, hash oil is recommended to those with some tolerance to THC.

Those who are new to using cannabis should use hash oil or other cannabis concentrates carefully, and with caution, we suggest starting with a small dose and working your way up if needed.

What Determines Hash Oil Price?

Hash oil usually sells at per gram or half a gram.

On some occasions, they are sold by the bottle.

The price of a gram of hash oil can cost you anywhere from $15-$75, depending on what state you are buying in.

In Denver, the average price of hash oil averages between $12-$40 per gram.

In states where cannabis is legalized for recreational and medical use, hash oil is more available than in states where only medical use is legal. The price of medical hash oil is higher than recreational hash oil. It also requires a prescription and is not covered by most insurance companies.

Other than location, the price of hash oil is also determined by other factors, including:

  • Brand or Wholesale

  • THC Content

  • Quality of your product

Brand or Wholesale

There are plenty of cannabis brands that have become insanely popular.

Some brands include a markup on their products, making them more expensive than wholesale hash oil.

Additionally, more prominent brands usually spend more on production and marketing, which reflects the price of their products

THC Content

Additionally, hash oil products with higher THC concentrations will be more costly because they contain more of the psychoactive ingredient that gets you high. Hash oil with high THC levels can be up to four times stronger than other forms of cannabis, so it’s no surprise they cost more as well.

Quality

Finally, the quality of the product will also determine its cost. Street hash oil made in somebody’s mother’s basement will cost less than manufactured oil due to the difference in quality. High-quality hash oil comes from well-grown cannabis, good extraction and proper post-processing. Manufactured oil costs more to produce and is higher in quality, reflecting the price.

Street hash can cost about $20-$40, whereas dispensary prices average at $40-$60 a gram, with some products costing up to $200 per 1000mg.

How Much Does Hash Cost?

How Much Does Hash Cost?

Posted by CANNASaver on Thursday, 30 March 2023 in Canna Blog

Many cannabis lovers and enthusiasts are turning to concentrates and other ways of consuming cannabis, especially if they’re seeking a next-level high.

And, when talking about concentrates, it’s impossible not to mention hash or hashish. Hash, a concentrated form of cannabis, is popular among many marijuana enthusiasts. However, its cost can vary depending on a variety of factors, including its quality, availability, and location.

In this article, we will take a closer look at how much hash typically costs and how you can save money on your next purchase using Cannasaver.

Let's hash it out...

What is Hash?

Hash has been used for both recreational and medicinal purposes – Its history goes back to approximately 900AD.

Hash is a concentrated form of cannabis and contains very high levels of THC, it is produced by pressing the resin glands of the cannabis plant together.

In simple terms, hash is basically just pressed and heated kief. The powdery kief transforms into the brick-like structure that hash is known for, during the production process.

Hash can be consumed in numerous ways. It can be consumed orally, smoked, or vaporized. You can smoke it on its own or you can mix it in with your flower. Chemically extracted hash such as shatter and wax can be vaporized with a dab rig or with a vape/ dab pen that works with concentrates.

Where Can I Find Hash?

Essentially all your favorite concentrates are made from hash and you can typically find hash and other concentrates at most of your dispensaries. Colorado is home to some of the best companies specializing in cannabis concentrates and the cannabis industry in the state has been maturing since legalization in 2012

On the other hand, you could also DIY your own hash at home. All you’ll need are simple products you can find in your home, and obviously some good ol’ kief.

The first step is to put your kief in between some parchment paper. The next step is to press and heat the parchment paper and its components with a flat iron or hair straightener. After being heated, the substance will turn into a solid/ liquid that can be smoked, vaporized, or dabbed with a rig.

You can also make hash by just using your hands - take your kief/ flower, then press and roll them in your hands until a paste-like texture is achieved. Old school style.

How Much Does Hash Cost?

Most dispensaries will offer $10-$40 a gram for water-based hash. This includes bubble hash, temple hash, and hand-pressed hash. The range depends on the quality and from where you purchase the hash form.

Chemically extracted hash can cost anywhere from $20-$80 depending on the quality and THC content.

Chemically-extracted hash includes shatter, budder, wax, and BHO

Hash is cheaper than flower because it is made out of kief whereas marijuana buds are composed of the whole plant. Although hash is more concentrated,

How Much Should You Pay For Weed?

Posted by CANNASaver on Friday, 04 June 2021 in Canna Blog

Once you’ve spent some time deciding what flower strain you’ll be bringing home, you are ready to check out. As you begin to check out you ponder the question: how much should you be paying for weed?

Legalized Mary Jane is weaving and winding its way around the nation. Recreational marijuana has become much more accessible than ever before in recent years thanks to changes in the legislature regarding marijuana as a Schedule I drug.

Many dispensaries are either opening or plan to open all across the United States in the next few years.

How Much Should You Pay For Weed?

When it comes to the business of marijuana, Colorado has been one of the leading states in marijuana reform for many years now.

Over the years, the price per pound of marijuana has continued to decrease in the state.

The cost of weed is lower in Colorado than in most other states. Be thankful!

In honor of summer coming around, I’d like to be your pricing guide to do my absolute best to break down what affects the price market of marijuana and show you how much you should be paying for weed in Colorado.

So, What Determines Weed Price?

Much like in other businesses outside the industry, many factors drive the price of the product (marijuana).

Location, Location, Location

Things such as being a big city vs a small town can drive marijuana prices drastically.

Popular places like Las Vegas or Los Angeles have higher prices on weed due to how popular those destinations are.

The kind of cities where the demand and supply are high enough to “justify” higher prices.

As opposed to Colorado where marijuana is grown in larger amounts.

In the Denver area, there are so many dispensaries that the cluster alone dictates pricing. Often seeing many more deals than other states due to supply being higher.

Higher quality cannabis can be found at lower prices because high-quality weed can be found almost everywhere in the state. You can find many more eager dispensaries giving discounts due to a high production supply. These are found more often in the states that have had legalization longer.

Quality of the Buds

The quality of individual strains as they are rolled off production also helps in determining what will impact the price you will pay for it.

Cannabinoids found in different strains determine quality.

Strains of marijuana with higher CBD and/or THC typically raise prices on those strains.

Taxes

Much like with cigarettes or alcohol, taxes tend to bring what can be lower marijuana prices to much higher prices in a snap.

Often dispensary prices do not reflect this. Depending on where exactly you live, the price of your marijuana can range with the individual tax percentage each township puts in action.

In the state of Colorado, sales/retail tax for medical marijuana is 2.9% and 10% for recreational marijuana.

Time of Year

Harvesting times on different strains of cannabis play a big part in determining a city’s marijuana prices.

Think of marijuana as a crop, the season absolutely dictates when the plant flowers as well as when the plant needs to be harvested.

The conflict of this happening like a crop between so many dispensaries, each one with their individual grows will be harvesting their buds around the same time as well as trying to sell their batches at the same time.

This would result in the absolute ideal time to be a buyer.

Low, low prices.

So Now, The Weed Price Breakdown

Everything in the marijuana world is measured in grams.

The gram is the base weighing measurement for marijuana.

Due to variations in strains, the visual size of one gram can change from bud to bud. As to the prices below, each weight is based on the average price per weight in Colorado.

I’m going to break down the prices of each separate marijuana weight, and help you to determine how much you can roughly expect to pay for the particular weight.

A pre-rolled joint?

The price of a pre-rolled joint depends on the quantity and quality of the bud which fills the joint.

Roughly, you can expect a joint to cost between $7-$15 with fancy-style joints going up in price much higher.

For a Gram?

A gram of marijuana is most likely the smallest quantity you can purchase at a dispensary.

The reason most people buy marijuana this way is to typically test a strain before making a bigger purchase.

A consumer can expect to pay between $5-$18 for a gram.

For An Eighth?

An eighth is exactly 3.5 grams or 1/8th of an ounce and the amount typically ranges in price from $25-$55 in Colorado.

If you buy an eighth for less than $25, minus discounts and such, you should start considering the quality or potency of any given flower.

For a Quarter?

A quarter weighs 7 grams or ¼ of an ounce.

Quarters typically range from $50 to $80 with premium quality quarters exceeding $120 in some areas of Colorado.

Small price discounts can occasionally be a factor in pricing quarters much like buying from a bulk store. Though, this is not always guaranteed.

For a Half Ounce?

A half-ounce is exactly 14 grams of marijuana or you guessed it, one half of an ounce.

The price typically costs between $90 and $160 in most dispensaries in Colorado.

At this amount, bulk prices are really getting much cheaper.

They can range anywhere from $75 to $180, but more likely will be closer to $120.

This is a typical amount of marijuana a heavy smoker/someone with high tolerances will typically buy.

For An Ounce?

An ounce (also known as an O or zip) of marijuana weighs 28 grams or exactly one ounce.

An ounce can roll up to 80-100 joints.

This amount is the legal amount of marijuana one may possess at one time in Colorado.

An ounce of cannabis normally costs between $100 and as high as $300.

Propane Hash Oil

Posted by CANNASaver on Saturday, 28 August 2021 in Canna Blog

We sure love our marijuana concentrates. Cannabis concentrates are a huge staple in the marijuana industry. With marijuana consumption increasing around the country, more people are either aware of “dabbing/dabs” or are currently hitting one.

Marijuana concentrates are made using a variety of marijuana extraction methods.

Solvents such as butane, CO2, and propane are used to extract desired compounds from marijuana flower.

Concentrates come in several different forms, but today, we’re going to look at my favorite kind of concentrate known as Propane Hash Oil (PHO).

Propane’s interesting chemical make-up gives this kind of hash oil potential for maintaining terpene compounds found in the trichomes

Let’s look at PHO a little closer (no, not the Vietnamese soup – although that sounds nice, too)...

Clean Burning Propane: What is Propane Hash Oil?

If we’re anything like Hank Hill, we love our “propane and propane accessories.”

Marijuana extracted through propane as the main solvent during the extraction process is called Propane Hash Oil or PHO for short.

PHO is recognizable by its bright yellow color and is often known as “honey.”

It also tends to have a “buddery” consistency.

PHO is made using only propane as a solvent.

Propane’s extremely low boiling point, -43.6ºF, allows extraction specialists to separate more of the terpenes during the concentrate extraction.

It also removes more of the solvent in the end.

PHO is consumed in a variety of ways: oil rigs, pens, or even joints

PHO vs. BHO: What is the Difference?

Are you a BHO or PHO kind of person?

What’s the difference?

Well…

One big difference between PHO and BHO (Butane Hash Oil) is consistency

PHO more often than not will have a buddery consistency (softer) whereas BHO will more likely have a shatter consistency (glasslike, brittle).

Another difference between the two is the boiling point. Propane has a lower boiling point (43.6º F) than butane (32º F) which means little heat is needed to purge the solvent.

This temperature difference affects the consistency of the concentrate and makes it much richer in terpenes.

Propane hash oil is also known for having fewer residual solvents in the concentrate.

This is a HUGE deal.

PHO Safety

With concentrates, there is always a risk of a gas leak that could spark and cause an explosion.

PHO extraction tends to be a safer means for companies to operate in a licensed facility. Closed-loop extraction systems ensure propane doesn’t leak.

How To Smoke PHO

Unlike smoking a bowl, you are going to need a specific set of tools. Tools that will make any wax concentrate cower in fear of you.

The Tools Needed:

  • A dab rig - A small, bong-like smoking apparatus

  • Nectar collector - A straw-like smoking device

  • Vape Pen - Concentrate vaporizer

When using a Nectar Collector, specifically designed trays/dishes are a must.

These kinds of products are made out of glass, quartz, or silicone.

After putting a small dab onto the container, blowtorch the tip of the collector.

While heated, drag the hot nail across the wax while sucking through the mouthpiece.
