Clinica Verde is a marijuana dispensary in San Juan. The capital of Puerto Rico, San Juan is the island’s biggest city and one of the most popular vacation destinations. They also have a dispensary in Caguas.
The Family Dispensary is a marijuana store in Bayamon. Located in the north coast valley area, Bayamon is home to one of three pedestrian-only suspension bridges in Puerto Rico. It's nicknamed the pork rind city, almost as if they knew those munchies were inevitable!
NextGen Pharma is a dispensary in Toa Baja. Toa Baja is also on the north coast, only a 15-minute drive from San Juan.
The Health Clinic is a dispensary in Barceloneta. The Manati Barceloneta river runs throughout the town.

Medical marijuana is now legal in Puerto Rico but recreational marijuana is still prohibited. The executive order to allow the medical use of marijuana in Puerto Rico was issued by Governor Alejandro Garcia Padilla in 2015, but only recently have the first dispensaries opened shop. You may be surprised to find out that smoking marijuana, even medical marijuana, also remains illegal. Only marijuana products such as extracts, patches, pills, and other formulations that can be inhaled, ingested, or used topically are allowed.
If you're traveling to Puerto Rico you can shop at the marijuana dispensaries as long as you have a valid medical marijuana card from your home state. Residents just have to obtain a medical marijuana recommendation from a physician licensed to prescribe it by the Puerto Rico health department. At least 40 doctors have applied to issue medical marijuana prescriptions in Puerto Rico, and more than 2,000 people have already signed up and been approved for a Puerto Rico medical marijuana card.
